As the 13th of March, International Women’s Day 2018 the Eco-fashion House, The Ministry of Tomorrow (MOT) assigned complete ownership of its Nairobi production facility to Michelle Gertrude Aricha aka “Coco Chanel” who has been the facilities General Manager and lead designer for the past 4 years. As Woman’s Empowerment is a core MOT objective, Michelle was recruited to manage its Nairobi eco-factory that produces vegan luxury bags exclusively for the company.    “I am proud to be a business owner today and am determined to follow in the footsteps of Coco Chanel, to become a successful fashion designer and businesswoman in the eco-fashion arena. ARISE Fashion Week (AFW) returns to Lagos

This year ARISE Fashion Week will be rerunning to Lagos after having been showing in London for the previous seasons. The fashion week will take place on March 30 to April 2 at the Lagos Continental Hotel. Over the course of three days, the ARISE Fashion Week 2018 runway event in Lagos will feature 50 designers from 15 countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Canada, Tanzania, the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Morocco, Botswana, and many more. Some of the designers who will be showcasing include Thebe Magugu, Orapeleng Modutle and KLûK CGDT, Maxhosa by Laduma, Rich Mnisi and Lakhanyo Midingi (South Africa). Laquan Smith from the US will showcase his custom-made, bare-to-there fashion, Ghanaian-British menswear fashion designer, Ozwald Boateng and the UK singer and performer, Nigerian-born Tinnie Tempah.
