On New Year’s Eve, I closed the music festival circuit for 2017 at the inaugural Afropunk Joburg 2017 festival. Despite the fact that I had seen most of the acts from various festivals around the county this year. The music and the performance programming was absolutely incredible. Leading up to Afropunk Joburg 2017 I had been covering the Battle of The Bands competition sponsored by Hunters Edge. Which was part of their summer 2017 ‘I am Reinventing…’ campaign. The competition’s objective was to afford new talent the amazing experience to perform on the AFROPUNK stage. The two bands that won tight Battle of The Bands competition were Stiff Pap who performed on Saturday and Automatic Live who held it down on Sunday. There was so much to experience, feel and see. For now, I am going to keep it all to myself and digest it all first perhaps one day I will write on it.
