For his spring summer 16 collection showed at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Joburg, David Tlale partnered with a Cape Town based artist, Jean Du Plessis; who according to his instagram bio, describes himself as an “ARTIST Painter of large contemporary abstract expressionism”. Surprisingly, the colour black played a secondary role, the collection was a solid monochromatic art party. With white as a base colour and the “colour” provided by Jean Du Plessis artwork unto the fabric. A beautiful, cohesive collection with a strong design aesthetic we have come to associate with the house of David Tlale. Naturally there were the signature design elements; floor sweeping beautiful draping in excess, sheer, high-waisted skirts and the regular army of models who have plead their allegiance  to King David. As an honorary welcome tot he family as the male brand ambassador for David Tlale, Riky Rick opened the show. The long term standing ambassador, muse and bestie to David, Tatum Keshwar closed the show in a banging manner only Tatum can. Image Credit: Jerri Mokgofe Photography
