Feminine beauty and sensuality are foregrounded in Ermanno Scervino’s pre-fall 2017 collection.
For pre-fall 17 the Ermanno Scervino women borrow masculine patterns, such as Prince of Wales and houndstooth, which are reworked, lightened up and refreshed with delicate linen yarns to create feminine coats, skirts, trousers or casual day dresses. Outerwear pieces are the result of innovative technical processes. A bon-ton flair adds a vibrant touch to boiled wool coats with details made out of macramé lace and fur, or warm double cashmere in shades of black and fuchsia. An urban vibe distinguishes the parka embellished with fur details and a contemporary embroidery with Eastern dragons, and the lightweight bomber jacket coming with a refined shaded quilted silk finish.
Haute couture workmanship is also seen on knitwear, with brightly coloured geometric patterns, and eco-leather, used on skirts and pleated dresses with Valenciennes lace accents. Crêpe de Chine shirts and blouses are embellished with ruffles. The evening brings out ultimate femininity with dresses and jumpsuits in silk macramé or sensual transparent lace creating a 3D effect. Accessories complete the looks by echoing their patterns. Shiny brooches of different shapes add a bright touch to garments and bags alike. Decorated with a dragon and stylised flowers, suede cuissard boots are the season’s must-have.
